Team GigaWatt emerged from BITS Goa Racing in 2022, when we made the strategic shift from combustion to electric Formula Student vehicles. Founded by a group of passionate engineering students at BITS Pilani, Goa Campus, the team is driven by a vision to design and build cutting-edge electric formula-style race cars.
Starting with a small but dedicated team, we embarked on an ambitious journey to master the complexities of electric vehicle engineering. After rigorous research, design iterations, and hands-on development, we built our first electric race car in 2024.
Since then, Team GigaWatt has grown to include over 80 students from various engineering disciplines, united by a common goal of pushing the boundaries of electric mobility. We compete in Formula Student Electric competitions, where we demonstrate our technical expertise and innovative spirit alongside teams from top universities across the globe. Through these challenges, we continue to learn, evolve, and advance the art of electric race car engineering.
To design and build competitive electric race cars while providing students with hands-on engineering experience that bridges the gap between classroom learning and real-world application. We aim to foster innovation, teamwork, and leadership skills that prepare team members for successful careers in engineering.
To be recognized globally as a premier Formula Student team, known for our innovative electric vehicle technology, engineering excellence, and commitment to sustainability. We aspire to become a platform that nurtures the next generation of automotive engineers and contributes to the advancement of electric mobility.
